London Marathon

2009 was the last year of Flora's sponsorship of the London Marathon after 14 incredible years full of breath-taking, record-breaking, headline making marathon moments. To mark the final year as sponsor of the London Marathon, Flora was proud to support Change4Life - the lifestyle revolution supported by the government, leading charities, commercial partners and individuals to encourage families to eat well, move more and live longer.

The race day Marathon course was branded Change4life at prominent TV camera points, including 3 start gantries, prominent advertising boards at the start, Cutty Sark  and in the finish straight and 50 Lampost signs around the course.

Change4life messaging reached over 4m viewers through the 5.5 hours of live BBC coverage and evening highlight package, and the 500 national and international mediawho are accredited to the event throughout Race Week.

Change4life messaging was communicated to over 80,000 visitors to the Registration Exhibition which held at London ExCel from April 22nd-25th and attended by all the runners, friends, family and the general public.

413,627 people have run the marathon over the 14 years of Flora's sponsorship and £422million has been raised for charity. Flora is dedicated to improving the Nation's heart health and is doing so by focusing on continuing Flora's Cooking with Schools programme, communicating the goodness of margarine and working with Change4Life.
